  • Handcrafted in Japan
  • D-Shaped Ebony PakkaWood handle
  • High-quality razor-sharp blade

The Nakiri knife is a unique Japanese knife that originated in the countrys mountainous regions. The unique style of the knife is achieved by the blade shape and reliance on the rocking motion of the knife being used.

This knife has been known as being perfect for julienning carrots or slicing tomatoes, among other vegetables. It's a great choice for home cooks looking to make a few chef cuts for preparing salads and gourmet recipes.

The blade is made of Shuns proprietary VG-MAX steel clad with its signature Damascus stainless steel, which is welded and folded to achieve a giant Damascus pattern. This fine steel makes the Shuna Classic a durable knife that will last for years and it's dishwasher safe.

The Shun Classic Nakiri comes with its own magnetic knife rack that is attached to the blade and can extend 45 inches to make it easy to find commonly used knifes.

This knife, however, does not really need any mounting devices thanks to its so-simple design and its indestructible blade. It sits well in the hand and is also quite light, making it a breeze to pull across the cutting board.
